Great site!

As winter begins it's frightening march towards us, NOW is a good time to start getting ready for the cold. Anyone who has done a lot of cold weather biking knows that it's perfectly comfortable riding in single digit temperatures. In fact, I think I'm probably warmer on my bike than I am in my car.

Now would be a great time to start compiling a list of gear and tips for getting people through the winter. 'cause if you stop riding in November, chances are you'll be driving until April.

Ken and I put together a collection of winter cycling advice at some point:

(Feel free to cannibalize it. It should find some better place to live.)

Ugh! the leaves haven't even turned yet and we are already talking about Old Man Winter.

But it is true that a little preparation gos a long way towards managing a carfree winter commute. I'll start putting together some tips on biking, walking, and waiting for the bus in the snow and slush. The WBWC wiki has a lot of info to work with.

If others have ideas on dealing with winter weather, please submit them to cfa2atpeldasongdotnet.

Do you have any ideas on car free pet ownership?

If your black lab is sick, how do you get him to the vet? What about the plain old routine vet visits and obedience classes?
